You may have heard of “April showers” when it comes to the weather in the East Coast, but it’ll also be raining automobiles in every configuration imaginable with the New York International Auto Show. Or, if you prefer, “Mark your calendars, as the show will be back at the Jacob Javits Center from April 22-May 1 with some of the hottest cars and trucks ever seen all under one roof. That means more sneak peeks, more brand new ’11 & ’12 production models and more concept vehicles than ever before,” as their website says.
Performance cars will certainly be featured, as Thursday there was an announcement that Chevrolet is introducing a 45th Anniversary Camaro for 2012. Included in the usual trimmings and suspension improvements for the SS is a horsepower boost for the V-6 for a total of 323 horses with no compromise in fuel economy.
The 2011 New York International Auto Show will also serve as the debut for a number of cars, some of which you’ve already heard about in the media:
- 2012 Kia Soul
- Scion FT-86 concept
- 2012 Hyundai Accent
- Lexus LF-Gh concept
- Chevrolet Sonic Z-Spec
- 2012 Shelby GT-500 Super Snake
- 2012 Subaru Impreza
- Mercedes A-Class concept
- 2012 Jaguar XF
- 2013 Chevrolet Malibu
The Malibu will actually debut first in Shanghai in the few days, then follow a few days later in New York.
