Dodge can rise up!

As the 2011 New York International Auto Show sets ablaze another round of super festivity within the automotive world, Chrysler Group LLC has announced that it will showcase its upcoming 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T at the show that starts on the 20th of April. The 2012 Dodge Avenger R/Tproudly boasts of state-of-the-art design and best-in-class power with a whole bunch of additional features, all packed together in the form of an ultimate sports sedan.

The 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T is built on the improvements made to the 2011 model. Disappointingly, the powertrain for the upgraded model remains untouched, however Chrysler’s engineers have  managed to re-work the suspension for better handling. That being said, the 2012 Avenger R/T is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that proudly outputs 283 horsepower while coming mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle and returning an EPA fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. On the suspension front, Dodge has increased the roll stiffness by 18 percent and spring rates by 17 percent in the front and more than 12 percent in the rear.

To set it apart from its older siblings, the 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T gets it just right with a unique body-color grille with the Dodge badge, black headlamp background, an R/T decal on the front quarter panel and rear, a rear spoiler and 18-inch painted aluminum wheels.

On the interior, the 2012 Avenger R/T sports Aunde fabric with Z stripe fabric inserts, red stitching and aggressive leather-trimmed bolsters, unique gauge cluster with a center-mounted tachometer with the “R/T” graphic and SRT-inspired brake and accelerator pedal pads. To bump up all the fun, the Avenger R/T also gets a Boston Acoustics sound system with 276-watt touchscreen entertainment center and a 30-gigabyte hard drive.

The pricing details for the 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T are currently under covers, though we expect to know more on the pricing soon.
