The 2015 Cadillac Escalade has changed its appearance, showing off new LED lights, along with more robust and sharp edges. It seems to be taking styling cues from the CTS in terms of a more rigid-looking body. The grille has active shutters, similar to some models from Chevy, that will shut to increase aerodynamics on the highway.
Inside the cabin, Cadillac has chosen to remove plastics; they have placed new suede, leather, woods, and metal to give the interior a more sophisticated look. The Escalade will also feature a HUD (Heads-up display) to help keep the driver’s eyes on the road.
Power starts with a 6.2-liter V8 that pushes out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Mated to the engine is a 6-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. Drivers also have the option to shift manually with buttons mounted on the steering wheel. Expect better fuel efficiency due to the active cylinder deactivation, which shuts off certain cylinders when there isn’t a need for power. Power can be sent to either both rear wheels or all wheels, depending on which model is bought. No actual MPG numbers have been released.
